In 2019 Walmart was urging customers to download their new app on signs inside the store. I told my wife: "I wish Walmart hired me for marketing, I bet I can get millions of people to download the Walmart app."
I started using the app and making Instagram videos about "hidden clearance". It was a term I made up to explain clearance items that showed a lower price on the Walmart app. Fast Company credited me for coining the term here.
I remember one of my early videos hit 30 likes and I was beyond excited.
Over the years, I've built an entire social media presence under the name Super Unsexy and around the concept of hidden clearance. I've recorded videos visiting 20 Walmart locations over the course of days. (then spent a week editing the video lol)
I made videos for 5+ years with the motivation to help every-day people save money. That was my reward. I didn't post a single affiliate link in that time. I worked for free.

Yes. You are buying an item at the price the store has set in its own system. Walmart sets the price, the register rings it up, you pay it.
